BABY.

It feels so good to finally be able to talk about this little baby! It's all we think and talk about over here but it still doesn't feel quite real. I think this was the reason both initially agreed it would be a good idea to hold off for a few weeks before telling anyone from fear of jinxing it but we had scheduled a trip home to see family and decided there would be nothing sweeter than being able to tell them face-to-face. Boy was that true! I don't think we quite expected the reactions we got from close friends and family. We came away from that weekend feeling so loved and so I just know this little baby will be so loved too!

I think one of the funniest parts of that weekend was how paranoid we were before we went home. I was only 10 weeks and so we hadn't had a scan at this point and we were both like "is this really happening?" which resulted in taking a pregnancy test in the airport toilet before our flight just to make sure!

We had our first scan not long after that and it was something I don't think I'll ever forget. Nothing really prepares you for the moment when you first see your baby on the screen and that tiny flutter of a heartbeat.  Our little one put on quite the show for us and we got to see them kicking and wriggling about (so thats whats really been going on in there!). I was just in awe and it made me realise how incredible my body is to be able to grow this little human!

And it definitely makes all the morning sickness, headaches and tiredness so worth it. So far, everything looks good with baby who is healthy and growing beautifully. We can't wait to meet them!
